PERSON AND FAMILY
JG was born in Lörrach in Southwest Germany in September 1957. He studied German and geography at the Pedagogical University in the town of Freiburg, where he is a teacher today. He is married and the father of two children.
POLITICAL ENGAGEMENT
JG is spokesman of the German Peace Society (Deutsche Friedensgesellschaft - Vereinigte KriegsdienstgegnerInnen, DFG-VK), spokesman of the Critical Shareholders of Daimler (Kritische AktionärInnen Daimler, KAD), spokesman of The German Action Network against Small Arms (Deutsches Aktionsnetzes Kleinwaffen Stoppen, DAKS) and Director of the Armaments Information Office (RüstungsInformationsBüro, RIB e.V.);
Other memberships: amnesty international (ai), attac, teachers union (Gewerkschaft Erziehung und Wissenschaft, GEW) and German traffic club (Verkehrsclub Deutschland, VCD); non-party
JG is organizing the campaign »We don’t buy Mercedes!« (»Wir kaufen keinen Mercedes!«).
PUBLICATION OF BOOKS
JG has been writing 16 Books since 1994. His themes are the Automobile and Weapons Industry and the German army (Bundeswehr). The biography about Jürgen E. Schrempp, the chairman of Daimler, became an international Bestseller. »The Daimler Desaster« was an Top 1 Besteller in Germany.
